In 1692, 25 people were put on trial, convicted, and executed in the name of Jesus. Jesus died for others, and this is why this is so sad and tragic. This is the
memorial for those who died.

Just as Goliath paraded in front of the Armies of God, Darkness is also temporarily ruling in Salem. This is not what is on God's heart, and He desires that it be won back, so that the people who come to Salem can know and see His love.
But this is the town that is named after these words that Jesus said when he suffered,died,rose again and spoke to his disciples. This was the reason why he left heaven and came to earth. This is what his purpose in life was: to bring peace back to us. It was to restore our relationship with God after man had sinned in the Garden of Eden. Jesus's life and death on the cross was to bring us back into a relationship with God. The Hebrew word "shalom" (שׁלום) means "peace," but its meaning extends beyond a simple absence of conflict to encompass wholeness, completeness, welfare, safety, and universal flourishing. (wiki ) Salem is the English word for Shalom. That is why these words and this town is very precious to God. The great love that God has shown towards us is currently obscured in this town by darkness and people can not know His Love nor understand it.

This year is the year of Jubilee. In Judaism, a Jubilee is a special fiftieth year, following seven Sabbatical cycles (49 years), in which debts are forgiven, Hebrew slaves are freed, and land returns to its original tribal owners. ( wiki )

This is significant because the number three itself holds significance in scripture, often representing divine perfection, wholeness, and completeness, as seen in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, or in Jesus' death and resurrection, which occurred three days later.

When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings,flashes of lightning, and an earthquake. Revelation 8
Our simple prayers to heaven are returned to earth with power to transform.

King David committed a severe sin by straying from God, allowing his flesh to rule him, and took Uriah's life. The elders of Salem many years ago took the lives of people in the name of God. Many of those people claimed their innocence until their deaths. Some people that claim they follow Jesus have committed injustices in his name.

Only God can judge in these matters but as David recognized his sin, he was compelled to repent. With quiet voices we should ask God to heal this town and restore it. We need God's Spirit to return to Salem and make this place a vibrant witness.
Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Psalm 51

When Jesus fed the 5,000, a young boy had two fish and five loaves of bread. This was something that was INADEQUATE, but placed in the hands of Jesus and BROKEN, it provided ABUNDANCE. When Jesus fed the 5,000, a young boy had two fish and five loaves of bread. This was something that was INADEQUATE, but placed in the hands of Jesus and BROKEN, it provided ABUNDANCE. This is how the math of God works but the driving force was the compassion of God, reflected in his son Jesus. This was exemplified in Jesus suffering and dying on the cross. We too can be filled with compassion and although we are INADEQUATE, we can offer ourselves to God and allow HIs Spirit to work through our efforts to feed others with the knowledge and love of God. We too are INADEQUATE but God can use what we give him for His purposes.
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3

When David fought Goliath, he did not take the King's armor, which was the best in the land. He came with what he knew how to fight with, a sling and some stones.
“Let no man's heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight. 1 Samuel 17:32
Jesus left the 99 to go after the one. Over one million people visit Salem in search for the meaning in life in the month of October. They are looking for a cup of cold water. They are looking for truth. They all need to understand the great love that God has for us in Jesus. We can be motivated by our love for God to try and fulfill the words of Jesus, " Peace be upon you. " We can speak these words over them and allow God to move through His Spirit.

Wouldn't it be great if people from all over the world came to celebrate the presence of God in Salem? Wouldn't it be great if people lifted their hands and praised God as in the Tabernacle of David? Wouldn't it be great if someone with the love of God in them brought the Light, causing the Darkness to flee?

Our God is an awesome God

Because this is 333 years since the trials, and it is the year of the Jubilee, and all land should be returned to its original tribal owners. This town is the Lord's, and he speaks his Peace upon it.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn.
Isaiah 61
